Intel recently unveiled its latest laptop processors a few weeks ago. Now the company has shown off the latest generation of desktop processors. The 10th Generation Intel Core S-series is all set to be used for playing games, streaming content, and editing video. The company claims that this flagship model is the ‘world’s fastest gaming processor.’
Staying true to its naming convention, Intel’s Core S – series has been launched in four models: the Core i9, i7, i5, and i3. The i9-10900K is the flagship model and offers 10 cores, 20 threads, and a maximum base frequency of up to 3.7 GHz. By making use of the different performance-boosting systems Intel offers, this can be bumped up to 5.3 GHz.
According to Intel, the i9 is capable of providing 31% better overall system performance as opposed to the PC from three years ago. Furthermore, the i9 can also give 63% more frames per second in gaming, 15% faster HD video editing, and 18% faster 4K video editing.
The other models are quite decent as well. The Core i7 features eight cores and 16 threads and maxes out at 3.8 GHz but can be boosted up to 5.1 GHz. The Core i5 comes with six cores and 12 threads and can be enhanced to a maximum of 4.8GHZ. Finally, the Core i3 offers four cores and eight threads and tops out 4.6GHz upon boosting.
The complete lineup can handle faster internet connections as well. The 2.5 GB Intel Ethernet Connector I225 can double the network speeds of a conventional 1GB Ethernet connection and the 10th Generation processors are Wi-Fi 6 ready. Intel further said that the very first wave of desktop systems comprising the 10th Generation Intel Core S-series will be released in May. There’s no word about its pricing yet. Nonetheless, we are really excited, what about you?
