JWall from PrintThatThing is making rounds on the Internet because of a 3D armor that he created for his orange tabby cat named Bobo. The feline appears to be battle-ready, and we can’t stop ourselves from thinking what would have happened had Daenerys thought of this for her dragons!
The best part? JWall is offering his design for free so that anyone can 3D print a 3D armor for their cat. He says, ‘Now cats all over the world can roam safely. The entire design can be built with one hundred percent 3D printable parts.’ What’s that? Are you not on par with the 3D printing technology? Don’t worry, JWall will help you to create the 3D armor for your feline companion.
JWall says, ‘We started off first just drawing out how we wanted the overall look and vibe of the armor to be, and I suggested that it should have spikes because I always pet [Bobo] in a reverse pattern so his hair’s all crazy and he looks like a spiky tiger.’ The 3D armor is not just for show and is actually functional. One of the armor plates has a small hole for a leash, and it also comes with an ID tag on the breastplate.
JWall was still working on the armor and needed to get a helmet developed. However, as expected, making a helmet for a cat can be quite a daunting task. That is why he has asked for ideas from other people on his Thingiverse page. A lot of people submitted their ideas, and JWall has chosen Craig Petersen’s design for his 3D armor.
Craig provided three designs that were titled; The Oni, Eye of The Scorpion, and Battle Kitteh of the Universe. JWall opted for the Battle Kitteh of the Universe. It took JWall a few weeks to get the 3D helmet ready, but it was finally donned by Bobo!
