You may have tried stacking coins, and after a dozen or so, they are bound to fall off unless you are a wizard or you have glued them together. A Japanese artist manages to stack thousands of coins to make amazing structures. Yes, without any glue.
The artist goes by the Twitter handle @thumb_tani, and the collection of incredible coin structures on his twitter account is bound to amaze you. What led him to this hobby was not enthusiasm but boredom, and he began to stack coins for no reason. He now spends hours and hours erecting structures that are just too crazy to be real. Just looking at these images would scare you that the coins will topple off just now. Once these got to social media, they engaged an audience of tens of thousands of people, who were equally awestruck.
The structures do not use coins only but several other objects as well. Impossible? Not for him! He has managed to stack towers over the curved edge of the spoon and even tiny spheres.
Like every other thing, Tanu’s talent was also questioned in the start. People began to call it fake as they couldn’t imagine it to be true. He eventually posted a video while creating one of his structures that shut down all the criticism.
As you would have expected, creating such stacks requires hours long effort, incredible self-control, extreme concentrations, and tons of patience. The delicacy of these structures makes you feel like a little breathing can destroy these structures in seconds.
Having a Twitter following of over 38,000 people, Tanu has been featured on many Japanese sites and blogs, and finally made it to the headlines in international media.
Have a look at the structures and marvel at the incredible art and its intricacies.
But how are these structures intact? Impossible yet possible!
