FinalStraw Is The Last Straw You Will Ever Need

There is no denying the fact that there is a huge plastic problem in the world and we are not doing nearly enough to rectify it. Plastic straws play a huge part in that. 500 million plastic straws are used in the US every day. FinalStraw, a startup is trying to offer a reusable alternative.

The FinalStraw is a stainless steel straw that works on the same principle as a regular one. There is only one difference. You don’t throw it in the trash after you are done. It has a collapsible body like a tent pole that can be stuffed into a carry case which is small enough (2.9 x 1.3 x 1 in) to be attached to a key ring.

It only weighs 80 grams and the straw can be put through the dishwasher. However, if you need to clean it on the spot, a squeegee is included. It works like a pipe cleaner and can be pulled through the tube to drag out anything that might be building up inside.

Some of the clear points that the company had in mind while designing their product were that it had to be small enough for people to carry around easily and that it should have something special which would make it stand out for the average citizen to opt for it.

The Kickstarter campaign suggests good progress with more than 20,000 backers. Early pledges of $20 will make you eligible for shipping in November if everything goes as planned. You can check out the video below:
