Facebook Just Launched A New Feature That Will Find You WiFi Hotspots Nearby

Facebook

Facebook is addictive, and if it was not enough already, Zuckerberg is making continuous efforts to make it so. Honestly, that is working pretty well, and just in case you decide to put your phone away and get rid of facebook for a while because you do not have internet access, Facebook will find it for you. Well, that is not the nicest way to say it, but Facebook wants to keep you connected at all times and to do so, it has introduced a new feature to the main app that will find the nearby WiFi hotspots for you.

The Next Web

In this fast-paced world, you need to be connected at all times especially someone who needs to work on the go. You have something important to do, and your phone is low on data, all you have to do is launch your Facebook app, and it will show you the WiFi spots in the nearby area, whether it is a cafe, museum, restaurant, bar or any other place that you can visit.

Ubergizmo

The company first tested the feature in a few countries back in 2016, and it is now being launched globally after successful testing. The feature is available for both Android and iOS, and it will be a while before you can take full advantage of it. Companies and places need to add their WiFi network to the app manually just like they add their address, and we are gonna have to wait until that is complete.

It may not be available to your app just now, but it won’t take long, so you do not need to worry. Once you get it, you can open the “More” tab on your facebook app and check it out. The video below will teach you how you can use the feature:
