Elon Musk has unveiled the sixth vehicle of the company. It is a Blade Runner-esque pickup truck. Tesla CEO Elon Musk unveiled the Cybertruck on November 21 after taking the stage. Tesla was founded back in 2003, and this is the company’s sixth vehicle and the very first all-electric pickup truck.
The Cybertruck will come in three variations based on the range of the vehicle. It will offer 250 miles, 300 miles, and 500 miles of range to its owners. However, that is not the only basis of its variations; the three variants will also vary in terms of the towing capabilities and the 0-60 mph capabilities. Musk took the veils off of the Cybertruck at a cyberpunk-themed event with several lasers and even an ATV.
However, the event didn’t go as per the plan of Elon Musk. How come? Well, during the demonstration of the shatterproof windows of the truck, Tesla’s design chief Franz von Holzhausen smashed them using a heavy metal ball thrown from a close range. The three variants of the Cybertruck available are detailed below;
- A single motor rear-wheel drive that comes with a range of 250 miles and has a 7,500-pound capacity and goes from 0 to 60 mph in under 6.5 seconds. It comes with a price tag of $39,900.
- A dual-motor all-wheel drive with a range of 300 miles, 10,000-pound towing capacity, and can go from 0 to 60 mph in under 4.5 seconds. It comes with a price tag of $49,900.
- A triple motor all-wheel drive with a range of 500 miles and a 14,000-pound towing capacity and goes from 0 to 60 mph in under 2.9 seconds. It comes with a price tag of $69,900. The production of this variant of Cybertruck will go into production in late 2022.
Musk has termed the design as ‘heart-stopping’ and has also said that this project is his personal favorite out of all the projects that Tesla is working on. Do let us know what you think of this amazing Cybertruck!
