So Elon Musk might be heading to space but you’d think he would do that on one of his own rockets but that doesn’t seem to be the case here. He might be trying to copy Jeff Bezos and Richard Branson. It has been reported that Musk has bought a ticket to space with Virgin Galactic. Jeff Bezos is also set to go into space on the 20th of this month via Blue Origin, a space travel company that he himself owns.
We don’t know how this came to pass but we do know that Richard Branson and he are best buddies now. Branson recently went into space via Virgin Galactic so maybe he set something up for his pal Musk. The report came from the Wall Street Journal who said that a spokesperson from Galactic had confirmed this news. They said that Musk had bought a ticket for his own space ride.
I guess just didn’t have any leeway in its schedule to get Musk the space ride he deserves. The company has been busy sending resupply missions to the International Space Station and setting up more satellites in low orbit in preparation for Starlink to go global. Branson himself completed his flight this Sunday and described the flight as an incredible experience. It’ll be interesting to see just how long it takes for Musk to get his flight.
Virgin Galactic has long queues so we don’t know how high Musk is on the list. Tickets are going for $250,000 for one seat. Maybe he is high up seeing just how much of an influencer Musk is. Having him travel on their rocket would be free marketing for Virgin Galactic. It is funny how billionaires are trying to be the pioneers in space travel, it’s almost like they’ve seen all that there is to see on the surface.
So no matter how close Musk’s own space flight is, it can’t be earlier than July 20, the day Jeff Bezos flies to space via Origin Blue. While no one from Tesla or Virgin Galactic actually confirmed that Musk had bought a ticket. Branson all but confirmed by saying that “Elon’s a great friend and maybe I’ll travel on one of his ships one day”
