Trump's Truth Social Tops Downloads On Apple App Store

Truth Social, the social networking app created by former US President Donald Trump, became available for download in Apple’s App Store on Sunday night. However, some users experienced difficulty registering an account. Yet, it topped the App Store’s top charts on Tuesday morning.

When some Truth Social users attempted to establish an account to log into the app, they received an error disclaimer.

People who downloaded the program reported receiving error warnings while attempting to establish an account by providing a birthdate, e-mail address, or phone number. 

Several people said they were put on hold after signing up. The notification read, “Due to massive demand, we have placed you on our waitlist,” accompanied by a waiting number. Truth The app was promptly downloaded on the iPhones of social preorders.

After being banned from Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube last year, Trump’s comeback to social media is emphasized by the app’s introduction. In the aftermath of the tragic Capitol Hill riots on Jan. 6, the companies took the rare step of removing Trump, who was president at the time, from their platforms owing to concerns that his statements would damage people.

Truth Social, which looks like Twitter, is another example of an alternative social networking platform that conservatives have turned to in response to censorship. Facebook and Twitter have long denied that they purposefully censor conservative content. However, users do not always agree with how these limitations are handled, although businesses have rules forbidding hate speech and advocating violence.

The Trump Media and Technology Group first announced Truth Social in October as part of an effort to “to stand up to the tyranny of Big Tech.”

On Sunday, CEO Devin Nunes, a former Republican congressman, said that the program would be offered to more individuals in the Apple App Store this week. The company’s goal is to make the app fully functional by the end of March, at least in the United States.
