Dodge has just launched its Charger Daytona Scat Pack, a beast of an EV with 670 horsepower and a 0 to 60 mph time of just 3.3 seconds. With a range of up to 260 miles, it’s a great choice for enthusiasts looking to upgrade to an electric car. The Charger Daytona R/T is slightly more powerful, with 496 horsepower and 317 miles of range.
These new Chargers will be the first vehicles to use Dodge’s new STLA platform and will come standard with all-wheel drive. Additionally, Dodge will offer gasoline options including the Charger SIXPACK H.O and SIXPACK S.O, both powered by the 3.0L twin-turbo Hurricane engine.
“The next generation of Dodge muscle has arrived,” declared Dodge brand chief executive officer Tim Kuniskis. The Charger lineup promises performance on par with Charger Hellcat Redeye levels, while offering gas options with better horsepower and torque than previous models. The Charger Daytona will be available as both a coupe and a sedan, with production set to begin in mid-2024.
In line with Stellantis’s Dare Forward 2030 plan, the Daytona models will feature a 400V propulsion system, reducing tailpipe emissions to zero and offering instant torque response. The advanced regenerative braking system and nickel cobalt aluminum battery chemistry provide more power per gram, with a battery pack capacity of 100.5 kWh.
In terms of design, the new Charger pays off its previous logo with modern touches like full-width white LED taillights and the new Fratzog logo. Inside, a 12.3-inch tilting screen takes center stage, with performance-focused screen size options for the steering wheel and instrument cluster.
