Convert Any Wired Headphone Into A Wireless Bluetooth One With This Gadget

Spiro X1 2

We all like our own brand of headsets, and we cannot use any other sound system. Except when we are moving, or the wires are becoming too long and tangled. In that case, we are forced to use the ineffective wireless ones. Despite what we have paid for the headphones, they almost always come with those obsolete wires that have no intention of disappearing anytime soon. Luckily, this cool gadget Spiro X1 can convert any of these tail trailing headphones into wireless Bluetooth operated ones and connect them with the smartphone or any device of your liking.

It all started at a hackathon event at the University of Pennsylvania. During the discussions between members of a different team, the idea came up, and it eventually became reality. It has the quite similar functionality to that of BTunes plug, but with a different design and aesthetic sense behind it. Months of hard work followed that eventually culminated in a successful prototype in February this year.

The Spiro has a 1.5-inch diameter and a 0.5-inch thickness. It has been designed to connect with any device compatible with Bluetooth 4.0. It has a multi-function button that can be used for playing your favorite tracks and even answering your phones. A volume adjusting “dial” is also present on one side. When the battery is low, an LED halo alerts you, and you can charge it with the help of a micro-USB charger. It has a decent backup time of five hours. All you have to do is to remove the audio plug from the headphone, insert The Spiro over there and the coupling is ready.

The inventors of Spiro X1 believe that within a few years, the wires will be gone from the headphones forever, and they will reap significant rewards due to this trend. The project is currently looking for crowd funding at Kickstarter, and the initial pledges are being made at 40 dollars. So, if you want it, you can save 20 dollars off the expected retail price if you want it.
