China To Open World’s Longest Glass Bridge Next Year

China needs more tourists in the region of Hunan Province and to accomplish that she has commissioned the architectural firm, Haim Dotan, to construct a glass bridge that spans 370 meters while being completely transparent across the Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon. It shall have a height of 400 meters above the canyon floor and according to the claims so far, it can hold up about 800 persons at a time.China To Open World’s Longest Glass Bridge Next Year 5

China is apparently charmed with glass structures that are built at heights which are terrifying to say the least. It has been funded as part of the Tourism investment cooperation meeting that was held at the Central China Expo back in 2012. It is scheduled for opening next year and has been named as ‘Wonder of the World’ by Hunan Province.

It shall be built between the summits located at either side of the canyon. The seemingly fragile bridge shall also sport bungee jumping for those who are not getting enough adrenaline rush from walking at such a height. The bungee jump shall be higher by 60 meters than the current highest commercial bungee (233 meters) on the Macau Tower.
