China Has Successfully Tested A New Maglev Train That Could Go Faster Than 1000km/h

Systematic Test Of Maglev Running In Tube Successful

Chinese researchers systematically tested the cutting-edge maglev train system travelling in a low vacuum pipeline in North China. It is the first time an integrated transportation system has ever been tested. More experiments will be carried out in the years to come, according to China Daily.

According to reports, the test in Yanggao county of Datong, North China’s Shanxi province, resulted in a maglev train travelling at high to 130 kph along a 2-kilometre test route.

A groundbreaking ceremony for the planned Shanxi provincial laboratory for high-speed maglev vehicles operating in a low vacuum pipeline and the proposed Datong test line project took place on May 24, 2021.

The state lab was constructed in cooperation between the North University of China and the Third Research Institute of China Aerospace Science and Industry Corp. It will be a crucial testing ground for low-vacuum pipeline magnetic levitation tech.

In Yanggao county, the lab will construct a comprehensive 60-kilometre test track that will be finished in three stages. The peak speed will eventually be 1,000 km/h.

Modern superconducting magnetic levitation technology detaches the system from the ground with vacuum-like inner tubes that greatly minimise air resistance.
