The popular chatbot ChatGPT labeled Twitter CEO Elon Musk as ‘controversial,’ putting him among former US President Donald Trump, Russian President Vladimir Putin, Chinese President Xi Jinping, and North Korean dictator Kim Jong-Un, among others.
Isaac Latterell, a Republican Party member and entrepreneur posted the ChatGPT-generated list of controversial/non-controversial public people and political parties on Twitter. Latterell also tagged Musk in his post, and when he saw his name, he exclaimed with two exclamation marks.
Like his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron, US Vice President Joe Biden is a ‘non-controversial’ figure. Former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro, talk show personality Ellen DeGeneres, artist Kanye West, and his former wife and socialite Kim Kardashian, on the other hand, are deemed ‘controversial.’
PM Narendra Modi is also a ‘controversial figure,’ according to the software tool. However, former German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, former New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern, Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, and talk show presenter Oprah Winfrey all deemed ‘non-controversial,’ the tool said.
Everyone who is ‘controversial’ among these prominent personalities should receive ‘special treatment’ from ChatGPT, according to the OpenAI-created AI program.
Meanwhile, Latterell stated that ChatGPT’s characterization of these people as “controversial/non-controversial” could be related to their media coverage.
