Chaotic Moon’s Biometric Tattoos Will Turn You Into A Cyborg

Getting your body inked with some fancy pattern or someone’s initials is so old school! How about getting a tattoo that can turn you into a cyborg?

Chaotic Moon does that, as this Texas-based software design and development company has developed a high-tech tattoo that can embed electronics on your skin!

They use tattoo ink made of conductive paint to create a circuitry which can collect health and other biometric data from your body and the surroundings.

Chaotic Moon’s tattoo kit began prototyping back in 2015, and now their devices are ready to collect and upload data related to the wearer’s health and environment, just like any Fitbit, Jawbone or Apple Watch, and send it to any device or entity without a hassle!

Ben Lamm, CEO  of the company, talked to TechCrunch,

“This is the new wearable. The future of wearables is biowearables. This is not something that can be easily removed like a Fitbit. It can be underneath a flack jacket, directly on the skin to be collecting this data and being reported back,” Lamm said of military applications.

The best thing is that the conductive ink is temporary and washes off just like a temporary fashion tattoo. The tattoo will be able to monitor the body temperature, detect stress levels based on sweat, heart rate and hydration level.  It will be able to send the data via Bluetooth or location-based low-frequency mesh networks just like Jott or Firechat.

The tatt might even be used for military purposes, with some modifications allowing it to detect poisons in the air, pathogens inside one’s body, and identifying when the soldiers are dehydrated, hurt or stressed.

“It’s an eco-friendly, non-invasive use of a platform that basically turns you into a human circuit board” said Lamm.
