It can get pretty awkward to have a private conversation on the phone in a crowded area. This is where BloxVox comes in. It is a special mask-like device that muffles speech and you can talk as loud as you want without worrying to be overheard.
Greg Umhoefer, a financial technology expert is behind BloxVox. Having experienced the problem a number of times working in the office, Umhoefer has spent the last few years to develop a solution. Tired of having to get up from his desk everytime he wanted to take a phone call, he went to find a practical solution.
“After 75 prototypes and countless hours of testing and redesigning, I am thrilled to introduce my solution to a common office problem,” the founder of BloxVox wrote on the Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign page for his unusual invention.
It is essentially a sound-muffling mask that lets you have a private conversation without reaching the ears of the eavesdroppers. All you need to do is put it over your mouth and secure it around your head and nobody will be able to hear what you are saying. There is only a slight problem that it looks like the iconic Bane mask and not too appealing.
The device is designed such that it is compatible with headphones and even has a small compartment where a microphone can be placed. This means that the voice will be blocked from reaching other people but will be going through to the person you are talking to.
BloxVox has a goal of $25,000 on Kickstarter and has reached $3,526 already with the campaign ending on 21st July. You can get your hands on one for an early pledge of $50 if it ever goes into production. You can check it out in the video below:
