Australian Scientists Claim They Have Successfully Tested An Anti-Parasitic Drug That Kills Coronavirus Within 48 Hours

Good news may be around the corner as Australian scientists claim that they have tested an existing Anti-Parasitic drug against Coronavirus with very promising results.
Scientists tested Ivermectin, an FDA approved drug that is commonly used for parasitic conditions such as scabies and hair lice. Scientists were able to kill Coronavirus within 48 hours in lab conditions.
The study, which was conducted by Monash University and got published in the Antiviral research Journal, was completed today.

“We found that even a single dose could essentially remove all viral RNA by 48 hours and that even at 24 hours there was a really significant reduction in it,” said study lead author Dr. Kylie Wagstaff.

However, that being said, Dr. Kylie did say that this was conducted in lab conditions and human trials need to be done before a full-scale recommendation can be made.
Although the mechanism by which Ivermectin stops Coronavirus is still unknown, Dr. Kylie has been working on the drug for the past 10 years. She and her team have been testing the drug against several viruses with promising results.

Let’s hope that the human trials are conducted soon and we may be able to find a cure for Coronavirus, finally!
