For those of you looking to escape the stresses of everyday life, the creative lab ST, in collaboration with Pjadad (Petter Johansson Art Direction and Design) have created an escape from the world. Called the AudioOrb, the device is basically a loudspeaker that users can actually enter.
The spherical step-in speaker looks like a giant hamster ball and consists of 18 speakers for the ultimate audio clarity. To add to the audio pleasure, the sphere blocks noise from outside to provide the user with a unique experience. The memory foam pillows that line the sphere adjust to your body shape and give you the sensation of floating inside the sphere. According to the Indiegogo campaign, “Inside the Orb, the outside world fades away, ideal for relaxation.”
The cost of one Orb is $15,000 dollar and so far, the company will only make two. There is no other pledge tier, only the price for one orb. The goal for the campaign is $30,000 and it is still at $0 with 50 days to go at the time of this writing. The AudioOrb is a pricey way to find solitude, but for those of us who appreciate the value of some time in seclusion, this creation is perfect.
