Apple Now Sells iPhone 16 And 16 Pro Repair Parts

Apple has broadened its commitment to repairability by adding parts for the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro to its Self-Service Repair Store. As some of the most commonly damaged parts, customers can now replace the cameras, displays, and back glass themselves following the release of official repair manuals for these models.

Apple repair parts are not cheap. A replacement camera assembly for the 11 series iPhones is $169 for the 11 and 11 Plus, and $249 for the 11 Pro and Pro Max. Display modules range from $279 to $379, depending on the model. Batteries are $99 for iPhone 11 models and $119 for the Pro versions. For those without all the necessary tools, Apple has introduced an option to rent the heavy-duty repair kit at $49, wherein they will provide the equipment for you to do a repair at home.

Apple’s steady move to facilitate repairs is in line with a larger industry trend that encourages the sustainability and lifespan of devices. Before, it was challenging to fix iPhones without running the danger of greater damage, but with Apple’s official support and components, do-it-yourself repairs are now considerably safer and more practical. Repairing an iPhone yourself is not just less expensive, but Apple now accepts old replacement parts, which might further reduce expenses.

This change also makes it possible to use less expensive third-party repair parts, such substitute batteries and screens, which Apple has said it will enable more extensively this year. This increases the number of official components and less expensive third-party solutions available to iPhone owners, making do-it-yourself repairs more alluring and economical. Apple’s new self-service repair options for the iPhone 16 series represent a significant step in improving device repairability and empowering customers to maintain their devices with greater independence.
