Artificial Intelligence (AI) can do many wonderful things these days. But, it is an elegant trick to have it guess who you are going to vote for just on the base of what car you drive. If we were to believe its verdict, it could save everyone from the process of going down to vote on election day.
A team at Stanford University programmed the AI to analyze demographic information. It was fed more than 50 million images of different neighborhoods from Google Street View. It looks at all the cars in the google photos and has the ability to identify any car built after 1990.
The AI identifies the car’s make and model and factors in the latest demographic and voting data. It processes these demographics to figure out the traits of the people living in the neighborhood, taking into account their age, income, education level, and race. The AI finally cross-checks this data to place blocks on the political spectrum. It is a cheap and effective way to conduct consensus surveys.
