A Real Life Version Of Monopoly Is Being Built In Hong Kong

Monopoly has remained the highlight of family game nights for decades. Even those who don’t play games on a regular basis, enjoy playing Monopoly. Whether you stick to the game rules or the rules that have been passed down the generations; it is very unlikely to have ever finished a game of Monopoly.

Tables often get flipped before you get a chance to complete the game. It can be used for tearing families apart and enables siblings to form alliances to take on parents or the other way around. However, people still keep on playing it because at the end of the day it is fun and we do enjoy a bit of drama on the family game nights.

Later this year, a real-life and interactive version of Monopoly will be opening in Hong Kong. The real-life version of Monopoly is being built at The Peak Galleria – a famous tourist destination. During the design phase of the game, residents of the city were invited. They were asked to vote on the properties that would be included. The Peak was able to enjoy the top spot and now sits where Boardwalk used to be on the original board of Monopoly.

The real-life version of Monopoly is slated for opening in the third quarter of 2019. However there are no official pictures of the place yet. Monopoly Dreams has released 3D renderings for showing off the plans for the final product, and it does look wonderful.

This is not a cheap knock-off, it is being built in collaboration with Hasbro Inc. and shall feature locations and items that were a part of the game as well. Apart from visiting the Jail or Water Works, you will also be able to pay a visit to Mr Monopoly’s secret residence. The place will also feature a 4D movie theater based off the railroads. And yes, there will be a bank that will feature money-filled hurricane tunnels.

We can’t wait to see what the final product looks like!
