And now it looks like one of the biggest tungsten cubes ever to be manufactured was just sold to a group of anonymous crypto investors for roughly $250,000, because why not?

The high-priced tungsten cube measures about 14.54 inches in width and weighs more than 900kg or 2,000lbs. While no one knows why a thing such as tungsten would be priced so high and people would be willing to buy it, it’s still a defining contrast between the immaterial nature of cryptocurrency and NFTs and the density of the tungsten cube. This recent interest in tungsten cubes led the makers at Midwest Tungsten Service to come up with a way to cash people’s weird interest in a dense material and make a record-breaking tungsten cube to please them and sell it via NFTs, which didn’t turn out so bad for the company.
