“Surprisingly effective for the cheapest rotary vane pump on the market. As the reviewer below notes, if you need good pumping speed down to low pressure (<10^-1 torr), then you should buy a real three stage pump from a real company like Edwards, Pfeiffer, etc. However, for hobbyist use this is awesome. Pretty slow pumping speed, but with no significant leaks you should be able to get to an ultimate low pressure. I wish they had an oil mist filter on this, but I certainly can’t complain about $62!” – Amazon’s Customer Review.

TMS Vacuum Pump ($62.95)
This single-stage rotary vane is an ultimate vacuum pump with a vacuum of 5 Pa. The unit features 220 ml flare oil capacity and measures 9 5/8” x 4 1/4 ” x 8 1/2 ”. It runs on a rated frequency and voltage of 60 Hz and 110V respectively.
“Worked great. Enough oil for one fill. It comes almost empty. The brass fitting is for 1/4” flare. If using on R134a make sure to purchase an adapter fitting or replace it with a tee fitting that has both ports. Directions are in typical translated broken English. The red cap is the fill port. Black is the exhaust cap. I ran it several times for about an hour each time in 100 degrees F., and it got warm but did its thing. Seemed no hotter than the big name brand. For occasional use, it cannot be beaten. Arrived quickly.
Note: It is shipped with only enough oil to coat the inside and prevent rust or drying out. Make sure to fill with oil before running. I used about 1/2 of the bottle. Then started the pump and finished the fill while it was running. That is the proper way to make sure the right level is obtained. Change the oil often!! I do it after every use only because my pumps sit for months in between uses. If it is used several times a month, I would suggest after every other use. Contaminated oil and low levels are the biggest problems for poor performance on any vacuum pump like this.” – Amazon’s Customer Review.

“I have been in the HVAC business for about three years now, and this vacuum pump is not only the fastest I have seen but also the most reliable and affordable. My boss has been doing HVAC for about 40 years out of which he has owned his own business for 27. My boss had been using a 6 CFM Yellow Jacket vacuum pump for which he paid around $400. His Yellow Jacket pump was not only expensive but slow to put a system in a vacuum. Today my boss owns his Robinair VacuMaster pump and realises that Robinair products are not only more affordable, reliable, and durable than Yellow Jacket’s.” – Amazon’s Customer Review.
