A laser level is a construction tool that can be attached to a tripod or a table. This unit projects a straight horizontal or vertical light to assist workers in maintaining accuracy. A rotary laser is a more advanced form which spins the beam of light fast enough to give the effect of a complete 360-degree rotating horizontal or vertical plane, thus illuminating not just a fixed line, but a horizontal plane.
The following article lists the best laser levels for your projects.

“Sorry. Didn’t buy it at Amazon but did look here 🙂 ( I had a gift card elsewhere). Great tool especially considering the price. Seems to be dead on compared to my 4 foot level along a 14′ run. Also came with a tripod (includes bag) and a soft case for the laser itself. Highly visible indoors in a 12′-14′ room lighted with four 60 W bulbs. Also visible outside in overcast. One thing to note: this laser does not lock the pendulum mechanism when in manual mode or off as some advertisements (and the instructions) say. All the “manual” mode does is disable the not-level warning. You can still use it fine. Probably not a big deal for an occasional user with a little care. I probably would not want it bouncing around from job to job in my work vehicle. Great product. Don’t hesitate to buy it from Amazon.” – Amazon’s Customer Review.

This system also compensates job site vibrations caused by compressors, generators, and other heavy equipment, preventing the laser point from “jumping” around and ensuring that your laser delivers accurate and usable information.
“I have been using one of these little laser plumb/levels for about a month now. It is the first, and often the only level I reach for these days. It shoots a bright red dot visible in full daylight and makes locating plumb and level points a cinch. Ideal for framing, layout, finish,etc.. It is rugged enough to handle the usual job-site bumps and scratches, and small and light enough to fit in your tool pouch. Long battery life too. The only drawback is that the other guys on the crew constantly want to borrow it!” – Amazon’s Customer Review.

8. Johnson Level & Tool Laser Level ($379.99)
This rotary laser can self-level in a horizontal plane. The locking mechanism protects inner pendulum during transportation. You can manually level in the vertical plane with 90 degrees split beam. The unit has visible and audible alarms when the leveling goes out. The laser rotates at 200, 400, 600 RPM. These lower rotational speeds enhance beam visibility while the higher speeds can be utilized for outdoor activities. The unit requires 4 AA batteries. The package comes with a case, manual and an aluminum tripod.
“As an owner/builder for my own house, I decided to do much of the excavation myself. This laser level helped immensely with very little learning curve. Also, it is very durable and I’m not afraid of breaking it. The laser itself is very accurate, and setting it up is so easy. If you are too slanted when you turn the laser on, it doesn’t break anything…it simply gives a warning signal until you tilt it to within it’s range. The stand is really easy to adjust so getting it level enough for the laser to begin spinning is comfortable and stable.. Also, just as importantly, the laser sensor (the small yellow device that can sense the laser) works wonderfully, and is absolutely essential. I was able to read the laser about 70′ away accurately! I have no doubt that this system is the best leveling system for large areas regardless of cost…It’s just that much better that it also the most cost effective solution.” – Amazon’s Customer Review.

“I purchased this tool to install a series of cabinets and provide an easily reproducible plumb line in a kitchen which has no right angle walls and also curved walls. This tool made life much easier on this oddly shaped room, and measurements and setup were a snap. I attached this device to a vertical (adjustable) pole in the middle of the room and away I went, lines set and done in 10 min rather than 2 hours. I came back multiple times aligning in other configurations, and they snaped back to the same points each time plus or minus a sixteenth of an inch. I am euphoric with this tool and do not regret the price paid.” – Amazon’s Customer Review.

6. Bosch Laser Level (63.99)
This self-leveling, cross line laser level comes with a mount. The unit projects horizontal and vertical lines independently or together for a wide array of level and alignment applications. The flexible mounting device conveniently clamps to multiple surfaces for quick and easy setup. The smart pendulum leveling system indicates if the out-of-level condition occurs. “This laser level is PERFECT for indoor use. The laser is sufficiently bright for any reasonably lit room and leaves a nice crisp line.
*NOTE: This is not for outdoor use! If you’re trying to use it in broad day-light against a light coloured surface from any distance away – forget it. That’s not what this is made for!
The auto-leveling feature is incredibly useful, and it lets you know if you are within its auto levelling limits. For the price, you would be hard set to find anything of better quality.” – Amazon’s Customer Review.

“The best thing I’ve bought in a while. This is a GREAT level laser! We are building our retirement home ourselves and needed a laser leveler to install the kitchen (I mean “we are making” literally). I purchased this one, and we got them in straight and level. It allowed two amateurs to do a professional job!! And, at the price, I don’t know why everyone doesn’t have one just because.” – Amazon’s Customer Review.

“This is perfect for hanging gallery walls, and it came in handy recently when we added decals, too (see photo). It was a small nail like the point that comes out of the back that allows it to hang from the wall and for you to work without having to hold it steady. It also has two levellers to allow for vertical and horizontal perfection.
On a side note, it’s cat’s favourite tool. He always shows up when we use it and chases it around. Great tool + added cat toy = a winning product for me.” – Amazon’s Customer Review.

“I received my first order promptly from Amazon. Unfortunately, the leveling of the unit was well off when I checked the laser line projections with a standard hand-held level. I then used the assessment methods described in the manual for this level and found that the horizontal and vertical lines were well out of range of the specified tolerances and were not accurate at all. Amazon immediately shipped me a new unit and I returned the first one I received. The replacement is much better and (on retesting) is very accurate.
I’ve used the new unit and am euphoric with it so far. It does make many projects much easier. There are several other models that Amazon sells from Dewalt. I only own this model but did find some reviews suggesting that several purchasers have had accuracy concerns on occasion with other Dewalt laser level models. I would advise that you carefully check the accuracy of the unit you receive. I’m happy with my replacement laser level, but give the product four stars for quality control of the first unit I received. I will update this review if I have any further issues.” – Amazon’s Customer Review.
