You Can Now Talk To Google Assistant In 8 Different Voices – Here Is How

Google IO conference is being held in California this week. This conference is normally jam-packed with tech-related news from Google itself. This year’s conference began with a few surprises. It was announced that the Google Research Division is officially being rebranded to Google AI. Google also introduced 6 new voices for the trusted Google Assistant.

These voices are now live in the Google Assistant preferences. The Assistant’s current default voice is named Holly and it was synthesized from WaveNet. The new voices have also been synthesized from WaveNet. You can hear the voices in the video below:

The Assistant now has three new male and three new female voices, each with a different pitch and variable speeds. If you prefer these voices over the default, there is a simple process you can follow to change the voice. First of all, you have to open the Google App. Open the menu and go into Settings. There will be a further option for Google Assistant Settings and then Preferences. You can test out the 8 different voices there and choose the one you like.
