Elon is said to work around 100 hours per week, spending his full work-week at each of his two companies, while taking five minutes lunch breaks and using text messages instead of phone calls to increase productivity. Talk about a jam-packed schedule!

Today, we are going to walk you through a not so average week at the office for the real-life Tony Stark.

Musk starts his day bright and early, waking up around 7 a.m. after getting about six hours of sleep. Amazingly so, he skips breakfast and only rarely grabs a quick coffee and an omelet.

He never skips on showering though and considers it one the most important daily habit. Soon enough, the packed schedule begins which is broken down into a series of five-minute slots. The entrepreneur claims to work from 85 to 100 hours a six-day week, with 80 percent of his time spent on engineering and design tasks.

Things are always happening in his life. On Mondays and Fridays, he works at SpaceX in LA. On Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, he goes down to the Bay Area to work at Tesla, dividing his time by spending an average of 42 hours/week at Tesla, and 40 hours/week at SpaceX. He also spends half a day working at artificial intelligence non-profit OpenAI.

On the weekends, he can either spend his Saturday at SpaceX or with his five young sons. Speaking of his kids, he said:

“What I find is I’m able to be with them and still be on email. I can be with them and still be working at the same time … If I didn’t, I wouldn’t be able to get my job done.”

And finally, the Sunday is spent traveling or staying at his Bel Air mansion and taking a break. (that’s a surprise).

Multitasking is the key, along with skipping calls and using an obscure email address to avoid spams. He usually takes his meals only during a meeting or a business dinner.

“Business dinners are probably where I eat way too much,” he told Auto Bild.

He loves to chug down Diet Coke, along with an appetite for French food, barbecue, and whiskey.

In all this frenzy, he still manages to hit the gym about once or twice a week. He also takes out some time to read and has revealed his favorite books to include the fantasy classic The Lord of the Rings, biographies of innovators like Benjamin Franklin and Albert Einstein, and an 87-year-old history book called Twelve Against the Gods.

After a truly eventful day, he hits the bed until 1 a.m. for the alarm clock to tick off again in about 6 hours! Wow, even reading through the routine was hectic!
