Top 10 UltraBooks With Best Customer Reviews

10 Best Netbooks (12)

Ultrabooks are really thin & light laptops brought in to compete with Apple’s MacBook Air. These are high performance yet very portable laptops with most offering 2 in 1 tablet feature. Ultrabooks are mostly expensive too with average being above 1000$. Since there are so many available in the market today, we decided to make a top 10 list based on customer reivews.

10. Samsung Ativ Book 9 Plus (1099$)

This Ultrabook weighs 3 pounds and has a 13.3-inch screen. Samsung were one of the first to try the Ultrabook concept so that they can rival Apple’s MacBook Air. This particular machine is a work of art with shiny chamfered edges lining its all aluminum body. Having said that, the machine is a little too pricey for it’s specs and Samsung has included a bunch of useless bloatware with the machine.

9. Toshiba Kirabook  (885$)

Toshiba’s Kirabooks weighs 2.9 pounds while it is only 0.37inches thick. The 13.3 ultrabook packs quite a punch with Intel’s i7 processor. What impressed us the most about the device is its long battery life. On the downside, the machine has many design problems for, e.g., the keyboard design & dim screen.

8. Acer Aspire S7 (630$)

The laptop is just 0.51 inches thick and has a battery that can last for more than 9 hours (that’s a days work). The all white glass design is marvellous too, but the laptop loses points on its screen resolution. The keyboard also has a shallow key travel that may deter buyers.

7. Lenovo Yoga 3 Pro (880$)

At 2.6 pounds, this ultrabook is one of the lightest in the market. Lenovo Yoga 3 Pro is all about style, and one of the main reasons for that is the attractive hinge design. The Ultrabook lacks any serious processing power and even then the battery life is not great.

6. HP EliteBook Folio 1020 G1 (896$)

This Ultrabook was designed for the enterprise world. It has many perks such as fingerprint scanner, enterprise security and the durable build quality to meet a Military Specifications certification. The laptop has a gorgeous aluminum body and fanless design which is a feature of most professional/business class notebooks. The laptop could have been rated higher, but the Intel Core M processor is not very powerful, and the ultrabook loses performance marks as a result.

5. Asus ZenBook Pro UX501 ($1499)

A powerful yet a really thin Intel i-7 laptop. The laptop has 16GB RAM with an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M graphic card. The alluring 4k display puts this laptop in the elite bracket, but it fails to satisfy the core theme of ultrabooks, as the notebook weighs a touch more than 5 pounds.

4. Asus ZenBook UX305 (622.11$)

Though this model does not have the power of i7 like Zenbook Pro, it is the overall value for money that gives it a better rating.  The ultrabook weighs only 2.6 pounds with a thickness of 0.5 inches and delivers incredible battery life. Though the screen resolution is good, video playback is not very impressive. Overall a good affordable ultrabook.

3. Surface Book (1299$)

One of the best machines running Windows 10. Powered by  2.4GHz Intel Core i5-6300U, the laptop has endless capabilities. The design is fantastic, and it offers almost seamless tablet separation. Though at 3.65 pounds the notebook is a little heavy, it makes up for it in performance as the system includes  Intel HD Graphics 520 & Nvidia GeForce graphics. Indeed the one to buy for Microsoft fans.

2. Lenovo LaVie Z (1413$)

Feather light at 1.87 pounds, no other laptop (even MacBook Air) can match that. The laptop can virtually do anything thanks to its powerful Intel Core i7 processor. (2560 x 1440) LED anti-glare screen is one of the best in this list only thing holding this ultrabook back is its price.

1. Dell XPS 13 (789$)

This was our no.1 for ten best laptops in 2015 as well. As mentioned in that article, Dell has come up with a masterstroke. The laptop is offered in many packages depending on RAM and the processor, a minimum processor being Intel Core i5. The laptop weighs only 2.8 pounds and has a crisp 4k display. The only problematic area perhaps is that it does not feature an Ethernet port.
