SB Waschbox, an automatic bicycle cleaning booth is expected to hit streets of UK sometime around next year.
The car-wash style booth may cost you as much as £7.50 ($9.90), but it will give a speedy rinse to your muddy bicycle within no time and did I mention that it will be connected to the internet as well.
The machine is already working in Germany and Austria. However, the prices in these countries range from 4,50 euros (£4/$5.25) to 8,50 euros (£7.50/$9.90).
The SB Waschbox is completely autonomous and the whole cleaning/washing process takes five to ten minutes, as claimed by the company.
‘Next year we are planning to place self-use stations and we will love to install one or more in Cambridge with a suitable partner, I think products like this show that cycling is becoming a more mainstream option for people, Whether you think it’s a good idea or a bad idea, the fact people are seeing an economic opportunity in this shows it is growing and becoming a more normal activity that people are getting involved with on a daily basis. I know a lot of people would be very interested in this’, said a spokesperson for the Cologne-based company, Cycle Wash.
