Watch This $2 Million Hercules Recover A MRAP Vehicle From An Afghan Battlefield

This is one of the most bad ass military equipment out there! The aptly named M88A2 HERCULES (heavy equipment recovery combat utility lift and evacuation system) is an armored recovery vehicle that is employed for rescue and recovery missions in a heated battlefield.

The vehicle was designed and manufactured by Bowen McLaughlin-York (BMY) and using its towing, winching and recovery capabilities the M88A2 vehicle can winch as heavyweight vehicles as M1A1/2 Abrams tanks out of the war zone!
The $2M M88A2 has a long 35t boom, and 140,000lb constant pull main winch that allows superior and easier winching ability. The vehicle is also equipped with 280ft cable and an auxiliary 3t winch and has an XT-1410-5A cross-drive transmission working three-speed forward, one- speed reverse gear.
