Elon Musk Reveals That The New Tesla Roadster Will Come With 10 Rocket Boosters

The new generation of Tesla Roadster was revealed back in November 2017. The production is scheduled to begin in 2020. The Tesla Roadster made headlines once more back in February when it was launched in space on a Falcon Heavy rocket.

Now the Roadster has taken the headlines yet again with the tweet from Elon Musk claiming that the electric car will have small rocket thrusters added to it that might even make the vehicle fly.

According to Musk, the SpaceX package will have as many as 10 thrusters arranged around the car. These will not be actual rockets but ultra high-pressure air containers. These additions will dramatically increase the acceleration ability of the car and it will be able to jump from zero to sixty in just 1.9 seconds.

In order to add these rockets to the vehicle, the rear seats will have to be sacrificed. The air thrusters once spent will be refilled immediately using the vehicle’s battery powered air pumps. Normally, this would be a concern for vehicles that the range will be reduced but the Roadster promises a range of 620 miles on a single charge so it should not be much of a problem.
