Sirin Labs have released Finney, the world’s first blockchain smartphone. Sirin Labs recently raised $110 million in ICO and has now announced that the debut blockchain smartphone to be released later this year will have flagship-level specifications.

Since it is a blockchain phone, it will act as a cold storage wallet for your cryptocurrency thanks to the blockchain technology. It is said to be immune from hacking and provides a safer backdrop for keeping track of your financial transactions. Considering how hackers are being able to break through different security measures, this claim sure seems like the ray of hope that we all have been waiting for a long time.

The Finney is not far behind on other specifications either. It will pack a Snapdragon 845 together with 6GB RAM and 128 GB internal storage. It will also feature a 12-megapixel f/1.8 lens with laser autofocus on the back and an 8-megapixel f/2.2 snapper with an 85-degree angle on the front. The phone will have a 6-inch, 18:9 display with a pixel density of 402PPI and a 3,280 mAH battery.

The blockchain smartphone will be running on Sirin OS platform. However, the latest specs show the phone running the Google-certified Android 8.1. The Sirin OS platform has a plus point that it comes preinstalled with a wallet for cryptocurrency transactions.

The company is planning to sell the phone for $999 although the method of payment is still unclear as the device needs to be pre-ordered with SRN tokens. Something to remember is the good news is that you can get a 10% discount if you pre-order the phone using SRN tokens.

We will, however, have to wait until it is officially released to see how well it fares with other smartphones in the market. What remains unchanged, is the fantastic juxtaposition of blockchain technology into a smartphone! We would love to hear what you have to say about this peculiar smartphone and your views on cryptocurrency.
