Rock Band Made Up Of Robotic Members Performs In Moscow

compressorhead (3)

When it comes to being metal, many bands may cover their arms in tattoos, spikes and 1980’s haircuts, but none will be able to beat the band known as Compressorhead.

The German metal band is made up of three, 5-foot tall robots, and they rocked out and amazed the crowd in Moscow at the Robot Ball exhibition at ARTPLAY Center for Design.

The members of the world’s only robot-band are four-armed drummer, Stickboy, bass player Bones, and 79-digited guitarist, Fingers. The robots are all made from scrap, controlled by electro pneumatics, and use Midi signals to make the music happen.

The band is popular and its cover of Ace of Spades has been viewed 6.3 million times on YouTube, shown below.

The Robot Ball exhibition is a month long exhibition in Moscow that features around 40 robots from all over the world, including Canada, the U.S., the UK, Asia, and New Zealand.
