Maybe this is just a way to cover up and save face for the boring shows, but there is a unique platform on the internet designed just to help you sleep by playing boring programmes. They call it Napflix, and the website is created to filter out any interesting show out of their catalogue. Instead, they have collected a staggering list of shows and documentaries boring enough to put you to sleep within minutes!

The Napflix website describes this service as a “video platform where you can find the most silent and sleepy content selection to relax your brain and easily fall asleep.” Think of any genre and any program you found ever uninteresting or boring, search it on the site, and you will most probably find it there. From long academic lectures and to educational documentaries, senseless game simulations and chess matches to static landscapes and religious rituals, they have the perfect collection to bring on those yawns right away.

Victor Gutierrez de Tena, one of Napflix’s two co-founders talked about the concept,

“The idea is to make entertainment boring. It could be the kind of things that remind us of our childhood, like post-lunch classes and TV serials we watched after meals which just went on and on, ones where you wouldn’t lose the plot if you fell asleep”

Although Gutierrez de Tena and his co-founder belong to the advertisement niche, they are insistent that this service has nothing to do with an advertising campaign. For now, the service is absolutely free of charge, so you can select and watch all the boring content until you are knocked out.

The platform mainly hosts content taken from YouTube, but it also has some featured and original content, which has been carefully selected and created to help you fall asleep. One of the first original videos is titled Subway and features a “boring” rail journey between Canal St. and Coney Island in New York.

And there is another cool feature on the platform. You can preset the turn off time on the video, which will then automatically shut down the footage after an allotted amount of time, thus saving your device’s battery while you are enjoying your siesta.
