HP has integrated the new privacy screen in its EliteBook 810 1040 laptops to avoid ‘visual hacking.’ The privacy screen will be made available on touchscreen versions of the laptop in September while the non-touch laptops will be updated with the feature in October.

The new tech, named Sure View provides adequate privacy and eliminates the need to put the privacy filter on your screen. Sure View was developed by HP in collaboration with 3M. A privacy filter can cost anything between $30-80, thus an integrated privacy screen like Sure View is quite valuable.

The privacy mode can be activated by hitting the function ‘Fn’ key and F2. The feature enables quite seamlessly, and the contents of the screen are blacked out once you move more than 10 degrees away.

Although the prices of the new laptops are yet to be announced, it is expected that the setup will take the price of the HP laptops up by almost $75.
