BEWARE! ‘WhatsApp Gold’ is a malware that can infect your smartphone. The messages being forwarded by the scammers include a link to WhatsApp Gold website. Once you click the link, your device is susceptible to malware attack. You download the program from the site, and it will contaminate your smartphone with malware whereby the hackers can gain access to your personal information and private data.

The illegal software of the unofficial app can even pass on your private information “to third parties without your explicit authorization.

Previously, a similar kind of scam surfaced under the banner of “WhatsApp Plus”. As the messages from the scammers are rampant, the company has decided to ban the users if the presence of the unauthorized software in the device is detected.

“WhatsApp Plus is an application that was not developed by WhatsApp, nor is it authorised by WhatsApp. The developers of WhatsApp Plus have no relationship to WhatsApp, and we do not support WhatsApp Plus.”

The users are advised to uninstall the malware and wait for up to 24 hours before using WhatsApp.
