As the launch date – 29th March – of the Samsung Galaxy S8 approaches nearer, the flurry of “leaks” and rumors about the phone have also picked up speed. Recently, we saw a photo released by VentureBeats confirming many rumors about the phone like the removal of the home button below the display, and making way for curved pressure-sensitive screens.

The latest leaks give us a closer look at the front glass panels, which have received a rather mixed show of emotions from the viewers; some call it “hot” while others remark on how “ugly” it looks:

The leaked images align with the reports of S8 coming in two models, the smaller S8 having a 5.8-inch screen while the larger S8 Plus with a 6.2-inch display — both being larger than the existing S7 and S7 Edge, and even the notorious Note7.

One thing that has stirred the ire of the fans is the top bezel, which although makes the phone look slim yet, its presence shows how Samsung has still failed to integrate tools like the earpiece, front-facing camera, and an iris scanner into the display.

But there still are many features to drool over, like the phone’s Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor and a personalized AI assistant called “Bixby”. A new report from The Wall Street Journal speculates that Bixby will be an evolution of S Voice. It will be an integral part of the S8 and will be activated with a dedicated button on one side of the phone. Bixby is also integrated with the camera and uses optical character recognition (OCR) to scan text into digital format along with controlling S8’s native apps.

The phone will retain the headphone jack. Samsung is playing safe this time and using batteries similar to S7 and S7 Edge in their latest flagship release.

Those intrigued souls who can’t wait for the end of March, will be satisfied to some extent, as the company is expected to give the first official sneak peek of the S8 via one-minute video teaser at Mobile World Congress later this month.
