Dubai has done it again folks. We are again surprised and shocked (in a good way) by what the city has planned next for the tourists. The architects from Deep Ocean Technology have completed the design for an underwater hotel, which will allow the tourists to enjoy their holidays underwater with style and among ocean life without getting wet.
As you can see, the renderings that have been released so far resemble something that comes right out of a sci-fi movie. The hotel has been named as Discus Hotel. The design resembles a spaceship, which sits in water on top of a central column. According to the information available; it is one of the many hotels to come. A spokesperson for the company, Swiss, said; ‘Today, the advent of new technology made the heart of the ocean a setting not only for diving, but also for luxurious holidays.’
As per design; two main discs will be employed for the construction of this hotel; one situated on the top, above from water, and the second one well under the water and these two discs will be connected by means of three legs, which will contain stairs and lifts for allowing the guests to move down or up.
It has been stated that the rooms will be designed so as to provide special lighting, which will allow the guests to take in the view of the ocean and also macro photography which allow them to witness even the smallest of sea creatures in its finest detail. The underwater part shall house 21 rooms that will be next to a bar and dive center; both submerged, of course.
The top disc will have a restaurant, swimming pool and a spa. The top disc has been designed in a way that it can withstand flooding and tsunami. The underwater disc has been designed with safety in mind as well and in event of an accident, it will rise to the surface on its own.
