This Guy Owns 700 Expensive Cars And He Is Now Selling Them

car collection

VanDerBrink Auctions is putting up a collection of 700 cars, in Norwalk, Ohio for a week-long event in June 2017. But this is no ordinary car auction. Each car in this massive auction is owned by one man, Ron Hackenberger.

One car may be enough for you, but it wasn’t to Ron Hackenberger. Cars were to him as candy is to kids – one is just not enough. The extensive collection began with a Studebaker in 1948, when he was just 15. After becoming a truck driver, he began to build up his collection in 1962. Having a sweet tooth for cars and being a truck driver gave him the opportunity and the time to find old cars to bring them home with him. He eventually built a trucking company to extend his collection. Even after selling the trucking company and becoming a rancher in Texas; he did not stop collecting cars.

In the past 50 years, he has built an amazing collection of 700 cars, each of which is unique, unusual and rare. His only requirement for picking a car was “something that you won’t see every day.” With a particular affinity for Studebakers, his collection contains almost 200 of them. The incredibly diverse collection of his cars comprises of Trucks, Pickups, champions, Commanders, and Avantis.
