Canada is a huge country, and if you are thinking about planning a visit there, it is often hard to know where to begin, but a great place to start would be the city of Toronto. If you have ever seen Toronto wallpapers on your or somebody else’s desktop, you can see the beauty and culture this city has to offer.
It has the greatest population of any Canadian city, and is an international center for business, arts, and entertainment. It is situated in Southern Ontario, on the shore of Lake Ontario. It has a really big place in the film industry, it is actually nicknamed ‘Hollywood North’ (a name it shares with Vancouver) by those in the entertainment industry for its large involvement in the movie making business, and in fact it is the 3rd largest in the world for this type of business, behind Los Angeles and New York.
Popular attractions to see in Toronto include the CN tower, Toronto Zoo which has over 5,000 animals, and the Art Gallery of Ontario. The Royal Ontario Museum covers natural history and world culture. If you are into ceramics, the Gardiner Museum of ceramic art might be something to pay a visit to.
It also has many major sports teams, and in July 2015 will host the 2015 Pan American Games, one of the biggest multi-sport events in the world. It is also one of the most ethnically diverse cities in the world.
Toronto has a humid continental climate. It has warm summers but cold winters too. Sometimes snowstorms can affect means of travel and business in the area. Droughts are rare, and the rainfall is fairly evenly spread over the year. So it is an enjoyable and interesting city to visit, and will hopefully live up to the expectations that were made by the Toronto wallpapers.
