This is Ridgid’s 12-gallon, 5HP, wet-dry leaf blowing vacuum cleaner. The unit’s large drain allows for easy liquid disposal and the caster feet allow additional storage of accessories. The small drum size and side carry handles makes this vacuum and blower easily portable and manoeuvrable when transporting. You can quickly change the filters using the patented Qwik-lock filters. The integrated 8 inches locking hose, lock securely to the vacuum and is four times more durable than a standard hose. Two extension wand extend the reach of wet-dry vacuum. The utility nozzle is perfect for cleaning up large areas.

“I knew little to nothing about Ridgid tools other than being familiar with the name, when I got this shop vacuum. They are supposed to have an excellent warranty service, and overall customer satisfaction of their professional tools seems to be relatively high, and certainly a cut above the average consumer brands that are more well-known household names.

As for the vacuum itself, it has a sturdy construction that easily surpasses my late 80’s shop vac. This unit has a nice tight construction with legs and casters that are tight fitting and roll quickly. The hose is flexible enough to make manoeuvring easy but strong enough you don’t have to worry about tearing it. The way it locks into the vacuum is great, no more accidentally ripping the hose out of the unit.

Converting it into a corded blower is easy, and it’s powerful enough to take care of small jobs like blowing out the two car garage, getting leaves off the porch, and other similar small tasks. The cord length is generous for a shop vacuum, but you’ll still likely need an extension cord for most tasks.

Overall I’m euphoric with the power of this model and seems to do a better job of picking up both dirt and liquids than my old 3-HP ever did. This is a much better shop vacuum than I had initially expected and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone in the market for one.” – Amazon’s Customer Review.

“Just got this today was impressed! Built well all the pieces fit tight. Tried it right away on my F150 carpet and there is plenty of suction. Then I tried it with the “engine running”, and it was like night and day. It ran and sucked much stronger. With the engine running it’s keeping the voltage up which will make it stronger and easier on the motor. Low voltage on electric motors will cause them to draw more amps and can burn the engine up. Has a long cord and like the pouch to keep everything in. I recommend it!” – Amazon’s Customer Review.

“I’ve had this vacuum for several months now, and I’m very pleased with it. If you’re just looking for a shop vac, you can probably do better. If you’re just looking to vacuum carpets, you can certainly do better. I was looking for BOTH features in one vacuum, and I didn’t want to spend hundreds for it. My basement is half “finished” with a carpeted office and half “unfinished” where I have my workshop. I wanted a single shop/carpet vac for the basement, and this one does a good job at both. It has plenty of suction, doesn’t require an extension cord like other shop vacs I’ve owned, and it’s light enough to carry in my hand when I vacuum the basement stairs.

Excellent value for the money.” – Amazon’s Customer Review.

“Worth EVERY penny. I love this machine. We just bought a home with a very wet basement. Sump pump does part of the job, but since the floor is uneven, we get GIANT loch ness sized pools. We’ve had to flood for the last two weeks, and I can happily say I had kept up even when the sump pump failed. The blower is excellent too and saved me from hours of raking. Best purchase I’ve made in a long time.” – Amazon’s Customer Review.

“I am the crazy dog lady who will take in abandoned, unwanted dogs. As a result, I have a houseful of fur babies with furballs hiding under every piece of furniture and more wafting thru the air. (I have dog proof vinyl floors.) I went through various vacuum cleaners which refused to pick up the worst hairballs or clogged and lost suction; even the best. Why did no one tell me to get a shop vac???? Amazing suction power. Sucks up every bit of fur, plus the leaves, dirt and pine straw they track inside. Rolls around like a dream. With a long extension cord, I can do multiple rooms easy as pie. I bought this because my dog groomer recommended using the blower feature to blow out shedding dog coats more quickly than brushing and more cheaply than taking multiple dogs to the groomer every two months. Haven’t tried that feature yet, but the vacuum alone is my new best friend.” – Amazon’s Customer Review.
