10 Best Mirrorless Cameras

best-mirrorless-cameras-7

The fate of DSLR’s started changing when the Olympus launched its first mirrorless camera in 2009. Contrary to bulging sizes and clutter of lens that you have to use with a DSLR, a mirrorless camera is compact and mechanically simpler. It can bring life to your memories!

The following article lists the best Mirrorless Camera in markets today.

10. Panasonic Lumix DMC-G7 Mirrorless Camera ($697.99)

This product has a superb image quality without the bulk and weight of traditional DSLRs. It provides you with three different 4K Ultra HD Video pause-and-save 4K Photo Modes. Its fast and precise auto-focusing feature tracks the subject. It comes with class-leading, ultra-compact, interchangeable lens and accessory options. You can Unwire your creativity with integrated Wi-Fi sharing.

“The G7 is a solid upgrade to the G6 in nearly every aspect. The body feels better in your hands, the buttons and wheels give better feedback, and the layout is far more natural. It is a little bigger and a little heavier than the G6, but you only notice it during a direct comparison. I also was surprised at how much I favour the new angular design, which I feel adds in a more professional look.

The pictures are of the same quality as the G6, but the video is an immense improvement. Even using the kit lens, the 4K video is mesmerising. The 4K burst photo mode works well but seems more like a gimmick than something I would use every day. *The screenshots I have included were all captured from 4K video.

The battery/SD card flap doesn’t open up as easy, lacking the quick spring of the G6. Also, the strap holders are no longer embedded in the sides of the camera, but rather hang off the sides like earrings (and since I never use a belt, this just gets in my way). Beyond these little complaints, however, there is nothing I dislike about the G7. I have undeniably found my new favourite camera, and I am holding onto it for a long time.” – Amazon’s Customer Review.

9. Fujifilm X-Pro2 Mirrorless Camera ($24.00)

This unit has a newly developed 24.3MP X-Trans CMOS III APS-C sensor reduces false colors to improve image quality, and X-Processor Pro engine dramatically increases response times, achieves faster AF, lower noise and better color reproduction. Its advanced Hybrid Multi-Viewfinder features a multi-magnification function that automatically switches viewfinder magnification according to the lens and simultaneous EVF over OVF display. Its electronic shutter has a maximum speed of 1/32000 seconds, and a focal plane shutter has a top speed of 1/8000 seconds. It also comes with flash synchronization of up to 1/250 seconds.

“Reading the handful of negative reviews, I wonder if we purchased the same camera. Did they just get bad copies? Or did they understand what they were buying? Detailed reviews are available all over the web so that I will spare the whole take, but as we should all know, this is not meant to be an entry-level camera. Far from it.
I have shot Nikon SLRs for 15 years and still own a D800 along with a full complement of lenses.
I once owned a Fuji X100 which began my love of shooting with the XSeries. Eventually, upgraded to the X100s and waited for years for the update to the XPRO line as the X-T1 while widely lauded, was not the shooting style I loved with Fuji. (I feel you are an SLR style shooter or prefer the Range-Finder style). The Ranger-Finder like form factor is perfect for my intended use: Street Portraits and Travel Photography. I have had this camera for almost two weeks, and aside from the initial settings reset that plagued many within the first day of owning (happens once and the Firmware to fix is on its way this week), I have had ZERO issues with this beauty. I am about 500 images in, and the IQ on this thing is ridiculous. The camera emotes and so do the photos it takes. Now if you are going to zoom into 100% and ‘measure bite’ every individual pixel then perhaps this is not the camera for you. If you are looking to shoot a tonne of video, then there may be other options out there. This is truly a photographer’s camera.
And as for numbers and speed, all I can say is that shooting side by side with my D800, the only big difference observed is the size and weight differential. Any AF Speed differential is hardly discernible, even in low light. The images are beautiful with incredible dynamic range, and while I will keep my D800 for other shooting needs, it now feels like a brick.” – Amazon’s Customer Review.

8. Sony a7R II Mirrorless Camera ($3198.00)

This unit is a full-frame mirrorless Sony A7R II. The newly developed 35mm Exmor R CMOS sensor is the first full frame sensor with back-illuminated structure. The five-axis image stabilization system is fine tuned for high-resolution image sensors. It offers 4K movie recording.

“I began shooting with 35mm SLR’s 50 years ago. Found my way into the air force where I got trained in 4 x 5. Fell in love. I shot a whole bunch of 4 x 5 cameras both in b&w and colour for years. Did my darkroom work. Loved it. Got older and not so powerful. Went to Hasselblad, just like Ansel. Loved it. Never lost my preference for German glass. Then digital came along. I was slow to respond. Finally, I took the dive. Traded everything film for a Canon system. EOS 5D Mark II with 16-35, 24-70, and 70-200. I thought zooms would make life easier. But I began to lose interest in photography. I’d just grab the camera, zoom, and snap. My photos showed my laziness. With the 4 x 5 and a fixed lens, tripod position was everything. With zooms, it didn’t matter. Then Sony comes out with this camera. It’s magical. Mirrorless. No bypass filter! Incredible low light sensitivity. F**k flash. A body that feels like the Leica M3. A shutter with almost no vibration, but a definite, solid feel. The “program” mode is just like the Hasselblad EV setting. There’s a level in the viewfinder. How long did it take to come up with that? On and on. One of the things that slowed my move from film to digital was the difference in dynamic range. No more. You can, in the camera, take bracketed exposures of the same scene exceeding the range of film. For an old dog, this is Nirvana. And German glass. I’ve gone back to Zeiss prime lenses, and I LOVE IT.” – Amazon’s Customer Review.

7. Fujifilm X-T10 Mirrorless Camera ($799.00)

This product features a 16 MP display, X-Trans and a CMOS II Sensor with EXR Processor II. The auto mode captures excellent quality photos with ease by choosing the optimum shooting settings from 58 preset scenes. This function, which also automatically selects the optimum AF mode, is perfect for snapshots and occasions when you don’t want to use the wrong settings by mistake. The unit weighs only 381 grams, and the new AF system captures the subject entirely. The FUJIFILM X-T10 has a high magnification 2.36M-dot organic EL electronic viewfinder, which shows the subject clearly even in bright conditions. It has an intuitive user interface to provide an incredible shooting experience.

“I bought this last month and took this on my trip to Italy last week. Was contemplating on this vs. my 5DMarkIII Canon but I knew I was going to be walking a lot and didn’t want to carry its weight (not adding the additional lens yet!). Anyway, it was the best decision to bring the Fuji X-T10. It was very light. I only have one lens which is the 18-55 2.8-4.0 kit, and this did it all! Got happy with a lot of pictures it took! The only drawback is the battery. Before I left, I’ve already tested it and knew it would not last me for a day – so I ended up getting two extra ones (aftermarket). Trust me, with the shutter spree I was doing; I was utilising all 2.5 batteries in 1 day! Anyhow, I took both raw and jpegs, and so far I’ve haven’t even touched or looked at the fresh ones because the jpegs were already gorgeous. Film simulations were very friendly. I bought a Sony A6000 last July but ended up returning it because I didn’t like the sharpness (I think it was the kit lens that came with it). I got this one instead and seemed this would be my go-to camera for casual shooting!” – Amazon’s Customer Review.

6. Sony NEX-5TL Mirrorless Camera ($425.00)

This DSLR quality digital camera has about half the size of the former. It has a 16 MP lens with an APS-C sensor with fast ten fps shooting speed. It features Fast Hybrid phase-detection AF for DSLR-like focus and has a built-in Wi-Fi and NFC. The LCD can flip 180 degrees. You can also shoot in a super-smooth 60 p, standard 60i or cinematic 24 p, all at Full HD 1920×1080 resolution. It has a phase detection autofocus for the quick response that is ideal when tracking fast-moving subjects and contrast-detection autofocus for added precision. It has best low light capabilities thanks to the Exmor sensor and 16 MP. The high-speed 10 FPS can be utilized for shooting fast action.

“If I could give this 20 stars out of 5, I would. I agonised over which camera to get, almost went with a Canon Rebel T3i (which I’m sure is also amazing! It’s a consistently popular choice), and I am seriously thankful I went with this. I bought it for beauty blogging, and there are several reasons it’s ideal for this purpose:

1. A built-in, adjustable skin softener. I recommend keeping it on ‘low’, as it does just enough. It looks insanely natural on this level.

2. WiFi connectivity. It’s not the smoothest thing in the world, but it does the job of getting your photos to your phone well enough, and at a decent speed. Does just what I need it to do.

3. Adjustable screen! A must-have!

4. The camera adjusts and auto-focuses like a dream for what I’m using it for. It gives you an excellent focus on your subject, and softly blurs the background automatically, exactly as I need it. Do keep in mind though that if you’re going in for a super close-up (say, just shooting an eye), it takes a little longer to adjust. This is not precisely an issue, though.

5. This is SUPER beginner-friendly. Seriously, I knew nothing of photography but was able to jump in the right away, quickly adjust my settings as I wanted, and start shooting in minutes. It’s not convoluted as I had feared. The finer tuning options are there for the more savvy, but if you’re like me, you can get by without any hassle.” – Amazon’s Customer Review.

5. Samsung NX1000 Mirrorless Camera ($299.99)

This mirrorless digital camera comes with 20-50 mm lens and 20.3 megapixels camera. The unit has a bright 3 inches TFT LCD. You can capture high-definition 1080 pixels video with a large APS-C image sensor. The unit has CMOS optical sensor technology with a Li-ion battery. You will find a straightforward interface with an adequately documented manual. The picture quality is somewhat portable. The unit features an optional external mic, an optional EVF and built-in ability to use a mobile app for a wireless remote control and viewfinder.

“The Samsung NX-1000 is a step forward to bridging the gap between point and shoot cameras and DSLR cameras. The quality of the images is simply beautiful, day or night. The small flash that comes with the camera is surprisingly effective. I wasn’t expecting much out of it. I’ve taken a couple of pictures of friends and family indoors, and the quality that the flash produces is top notch. When I saw the images on my Macbook, the quality resembled that of what one would see in like in a commercial or episode of “How to Make It in America” haha. Since it’s a compact camera, I can take this Samsung anywhere I go and can leave my Nikon D7000 at home. I have a grip on it, and I hated it when I had to bring that bulky thing at family dinners. I haven’t tried the video mode yet, for I have only owned this camera for a couple of days now. The wi-fi syncing wasn’t a big deal to me, but the feature works well, and it doesn’t take long for your images to be transferred to your certain account. One thing that was a flaw was the very limited accounts you could send your pictures to. They only had Facebook, Youtube, Picasso, and email. Twitter and Tumblr would have been awesome add-ons; Instagram not so much cause that’s going to be in the Samsung Galaxy Smart Camera, which a camera that’s a phone. Overall, I am pleased with this product and do recommend it to people who want a compact camera, but can also deliver sharp, high quality, images.” – Amazon’s Customer Review.

“So far so good. We are transitioning from a point-and-shoot camera to one with a little more sophistication. Watched a lot of videos on the Olympus site and had made a lot of experimenting and trial and error. We are getting some great photos and look forward to further improvement in our photography. Sharp colours. Will need to get a zoom lens as it does not have that capability with the lens it comes with. Post processing is our next challenge.” – Amazon’s Customer Review.

“I got my Olympus PEN E-PL1 as a Christmas gift and have been using it for the past three years – a little late on the review but I really can only say good things about this camera. I love the features that are incorporated into the PEN, the best being that as you change settings, the display shows you what your photo will look like – over/under exposed, etc. It helps you to get the best shot. I recently purchased another lens for this camera https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0066J6EOU/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_3. I have taken hundreds if not thousands of photos, and I usually have small post-processing work because I’m so happy with the way the pictures come out. I am not a professional photographer, just a hobbyist and I love everything this camera does!” – Amazon’s Customer Review.

“Great for taking pictures of kids. This is my go to camera when my kids are playing sports. When you take a picture of moving children, it nails it every time. The 30-110 lens is a must have. The focus is super fast ( you will not find a faster-focusing camera in any of its competitors, it’s the j1’s speciality) and it’s accurate. It does great portraits too. Shooting in raw it yields great detail with natural colours. Most other interchangeable lens cameras will require expensive prime lenses to accomplish what the j1 does with kit lenses. Build quality is excellent, has a built in a flash, battery life is good, and it can do amazing super slow motion videos. The only negatives I can think of are navigating its menus, no touch screen, and 10mp sensor. Don’t judge the sensor by its megapixel size; it’s an excellent 1″ sensor that will blow away most point n shoots with tiny 20mp sensors.” – Amazon’s Customer Review.

“I love this camera. I got it on January 09, 2015. I immediately noticed how fast it drained the battery. It was even draining the battery overnight with the camera turned off, so I ordered two additional batteries and a charger. And I got in the habit of taking out the battery when I wasn’t using the camera. I’m an engineer, so I immediately started looking online for a remedy in various forums and conducting experiments to find out what was draining the battery so fast. After a lot of digging with no solution, I was going through all the menus one day and stumbled across Airplane Mode???

Sony a6000 battery drain mystery solved!!! Turn Airplane Mode On! The a6000 supports Wi-Fi transfer of photos and videos to SmartPhones, Computers and other Wi-Fi devices. The default setting is Airplane Mode Off which drains the battery even with the camera off because it is always looking for nearby Wi-Fi devices. The solution is to turn Wi-Fi Off by turning Airplane Mode On. Only turn Airplane Mode Off when you want to send photos/videos to another Wi-Fi device. Then turn Airplane Mode On again as soon as you have finished transferring. Problem solved.” – Amazon’s Customer Review.
