This Internet Radio has access to more than 25000 radio stations all over the world. The unit features 2.4 inches TFT color display with weather display on standby. The unit also features WLAN, alarm clock with dual alarm settings, snooze and sleep timer. It also has earphone socket on the back, supplementary 3.5mm line out jack to connect external speakers if needed and 3.5 mm aux to connect the audio device. It comes with a remote controller.

“Set up is simple. As soon as the radio is powered up, it will ID one or more ips in your range. Select yours and then enter your password. The unit is a compact size, reminiscent of 1950s tabletop tube radios. If you choose to use only the unit’s speaker for sound output, you have a choice of pre-set EQ settings. I integrated mine into my audio system, utilising the line out feature, which is a VERY thoughtful feature. The EQ settings can still be applied. Note that the built-in speaker can be muted with the remote, but this has no effect on the line out, which will continue to play. There must be a few hundred ( at least ) different stations, worldwide, to select from. The unit will display, in colour, the music source ( such as CD cover art ) the selected radio station is playing. This unit is a perfect solution to living in a remote location with minimal OTA radio reception. A good buy.” – Amazon’s Customer Review.

“This just arrived, and I am thrilled with it. It is tiny but puts out the good quality sound for its size and price. This is a Wi-Fi connected Android device. I purchased this so I could listen to a couple of my favourite radio stations when in the kitchen and dining room. It only took a few minutes to set up and now I have access to FIP from Paris and KUSC from Los Angeles. I did need to reset the time from the default Pacific Time Zone, but that was a minor issue. Very decent sound. There are no tone controls, and the bottom bass speaker is a bit boomy but this should even out after it’s broken in. This was very easy to set up and use. Mine arrived without any instructions. I contacted the vendor through Amazon, and they were very fast to respond with a link to their online manuals. As I’m not familiar with Android devices, I was glad to see there is a voice activated system that allowed me to find where to make a few changes in the settings. I’m impressed with this internet radio and with the company that is selling it.” – Amazon’s Customer Review.

“This is like a component tuner. I have an old console stereo from the 1970’s which is in mint condition. Old console radios are no longer in style, but this thing is a beautiful piece of French provincial furniture, too nice to get rid of. I added this little Grace Digital Primo to the Aux. in and now the old stereo can receive 50,000 radio stations and I also use Pandora and SiriusXM. It works exactly like I hoped it would.” – Amazon’s Customer Review.

It works on rechargeable and dry cell batteries. The WFR-28 delivers sound beyond its size and has built-in Digital EQ settings for pop, rock, classical, news, the movie as well as separate bass and treble controls to adjust the sound to your individual taste.

“Received this Sangean WFR-28 WiFi radio from Amazon and have spent some hours trying out its various features. Excellent quality in its design in every way. As an electrical engineer, I appreciate the fact the software/firmware in this product works well and seems very stable – I noticed no bugs in it at all after constant use of the radio. The menu system is a bit awkward at first and requires a short learning curve to find your way around. Rather good fidelity via the speaker or earphones, and excellent accuracy using pro-quality headphones on 128kbps or higher stations. As a bonus, you can adjust the tonal characteristics to your taste – a real rarity. An exterior button to go directly to the ‘My Favorites’ radio station list would be nice, but this is a minor point. The plastic case cover could have been a non-glossy texture instead of high-gloss so as not to show fingerprints – another small point. And lastly, a method to lock the radio in the OFF power position during transport would have been quite useful. The FM section has relatively modest abilities, so if you want high-sensitivity FM reception, go on to another radio: this is foremost, a WiFi radio. Uses the Frontier Silicon Radio Portal for connectivity and software upgrades, with 15000+ stations/podcasts available. An excellent, well-made product.” – Amazon’s Customer Review.

3. Bose Internet Radio ($249.99)

This radio plays a wealth of music sources: FM/AM radio, your iPod, smartphone, computer, tablet or Bluetooth device. It includes advanced FM/AM tuner, headphone jack, remote, clock and touch-top on/off/snooze control, dual independent alarms and displays song/artist info. It allows rich, room-filling sound from a compact tabletop radio that fits just about anywhere in your home.

“I purchased the original Bose Wave radio back in 1994. During a recent move from Florida; the carton that it was in got inundated with rain and damaged the unit beyond repair. Since I had been so happy with its performance; I decided to go ahead and purchase a new one. I’ve always been very pleased with Bose products, although I do feel that they’re on the pricey side. As far as the new unit goes; the sound quality is equal to or better than the original version. The original one uttered phenomenal to me, so it would be difficult to improve upon that. The sound is crisp and very rich sounding, easily filling up a medium sized room with sound you would expect from much larger speakers. Since I live close to a metropolitan area; I have no trouble getting a strong signal from both AM & FM stations, a problem that some people have had. There are a few things that I find are an improvement over the original version. The radio displays text information, so I’m able to obtain the artist’s name and song title, provided that the station broadcasts it. Another improvement, but at added cost, is the ability to play from additional music sources, such as an iPod, smartphone, computer, tablet or Bluetooth device. For the price of the radio; these optional accessories should be standard. One thing that I find a little annoying about the new version is the inability to control any of the radio functions on the unit itself. The included remote control is necessary to control all functions of the radio, which is fine, but I would still have appreciated the ability to do so on the radio itself as well as with the remote. The bottom line is that this is an excellent sounding radio, although not much different sounding than the one I bought 18 years ago. It’s obviously well built and provided you don’t leave it out in the rain, will withstand the test of time. It has some nice features, such as the artist display mentioned above, gradually increasing volume to set point of volume that was previously set, AUX input, room filling crystal clear sound, etc. The only cons that I can find are the fact that Bose charges a lot for this radio, but I guess you get what you pay for. Also, as mentioned; I would have preferred the option of being able to control the radio from the unit itself, in addition to the transmitter. Overall, however; there’s not a whole lot to dislike about this radio. If ease of use and the superb sound is what you’re after; you’ll find it here.” – Amazon’s Customer Review.
